Child & Adolescent Psychologist, Senior Psychologist

Eva enjoys working with children and adolescents in both individual and group settings and has particular interest in social skills training, anxiety, depression, anger, self-harm and suicide ideation, grief, body image issues and stress. Eva predominately uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy but also uses other therapies when appropriate such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness and art therapy to suit the client’s needs. Eva also uses motivational interviewing in the initial sessions to help empower and engage the client. Eva has a strong interest in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and has had extensive experience counselling children with additional needs. Eva is trained in both the ADI-R and ADOS-2 and is able to assess and diagnose children with suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder. In 2017, Eva completed the PEERS program at UCLA, which is an evidence-based social skills training program for adolescents. Eva is competent with performing cognitive and learning assessments and providing recommendations to support the child both at home and at school. Eva has worked as a DET psychologist for the past eight years and has provided consultation to parents, teachers and other school personnel to enhance the learning and social and emotional wellbeing of students. Eva believes it is important to work collaboratively with the child, parents, school personnel and external agencies to achieve optimal learning outcomes for children.
